Ram Dass is the author of the classic book on enlightenment and meditation, Be Here Now. The book traces his path from a promising young Harvard professor, where he and Timothy Leary experimented extensively with LSD, to a Seeker in India where he later completed his transition from Professor Richard Alpert into the realized being, Ram Dass. Ramana Maharshi is widely recognized as one of the greatest gurus of modern times. He taught by example at his ashram near the holy city of Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu, but left little writing as a legacy. Nan Yar is one of the few written records of his experience.
