Da
Shan

Da
Shan is one of our favorite venues. It is gorgeous. A traditional
Taiwanese Restaurant in the middle of a fruit orchard in the hills.
There's a massive river that runs along the valley floor, walking
trails that take you all thru the jungle, from da kun to nan tou,
and little streams running thruout the property that open up into
big wholes where you can go swiming. The restaurant features an
extensive selection of mountain vegetables, chicken and rabbitt--all
the animals and vegetables used are raised on the mountain. So
come out early, enjoy the hills and river for the afternoon, have
dinner and enjoy the live performance early and get ready for
the nite, which features one of the most stunning views around.a
sky full of stars and the moon rising over the jungle hills...

We
will use a different area than b4 at this venue, and set it up
in a totaly different way. The party will feature 3 distinctive
areas: the main stage, in the upper area, surrounded by massive
stones and a bamboo forest, w/ a huge projektion skreen set in
front of the forest. The Bamboo Forest Chill Space behind the
bar is surrounded by bamboo and jungle, and is the perfect setting
for a drum circle later in the evening. The Serene Starz Chill
Space on the other side of the party is a small clearing in the
trees, where the whole sky opens up, offering a gorgeous skyline
for massive chillings. There will be a number of stands at the
party--none commercial--all selling or promotiong something they
have created or designed themselves. So there will be something
happening somewhere all the time at Rootz...
There
is free camping space 100m from the party. So it wont be too loud--soft
ground, shaded by lychee trees. The chill spaces are not massive
and there will not be a seperate sound system in either of them--one
is all acoustic, the other is close enuf to hear the tunez from
the party--we may set up a small stereo to play chill out cds
in one. But we really want to show people that they can get away
for a nite, chill out and relax in some gorgeous nature, very
close to home--so we'r putting in the effort to plan more chill
space and live performance to help people do that--in return we
hope we get enuf support to justify the cost and energy--in that
way, its up to you--there is no greed anywhere in this organization--if
we can count on geting just a hundred more people out per party,
it would be no problem to pay for a second system and djs--as
it is, you usualy only get that at parties that cost closer to
1000. We dont want to charge more, so the only way to get amenities
like a second stage and foreign djs, is to get more people out.
We really hope we'll be able to do that for you this year. So
spread the word--the parties will be bigger and better this year,
and the more support we get, the more we'll put into them...

A
Word About...
The
Environment:
we have a massive responsibility as partyers to preserve the natural
environments we go into--cigarette butts and beer cans are the
main culprits--we'll put seperate recycling bins all around the
venue this time--find the closest one a put your trash inside,
pleaze--it aint that hard...
Illegal
Drugs: They are not to be seen anywhere
in any way at a revevolution event. It is incredibley foolish
and unecesary when they are. And it gets everyone in a whole lot
a trouble. So keep everything cool, with yourself, and there shouldnt
be any problem...
Safety:
Chi Funk has organized nearly 50 events over the last 4 years
in Taiwan. There have been 0 fights. 0 busts or arrests. 2 injuries
(yuri stepped on coral in ken ding. jon steped on barbed wire
in fu long). We are very proud of that, and you should be to.
Lets keep it that way...
Ticket
Price: we'v never charged more
than 500nt. we would really like to. we could give you a lot more.
it is not a matter of greed or even desire, it is, sadly, one
of economics. Most parties with 2 sound systems and/or foreign
dj are 600-1200nt. we would rather get to that level by getting
more people out, than by charging more. please support us in this
effort. this is not a club or bar that has everything in place
and is doing business every nite--this is one time, lots of people
putting lots of money and effort into creating a very special
atmosphere for one evening, and then the bills are paid and we
take it all down...
The
System: we
now use a standard 5000w imported JBL sound
systm, w/ 4 bass bins, 12 speakers total. it is the same
system used by DJ @llen & Victor at their parties, and is
also rented out by 2F often. The systm also includes a number
of scanner and disco lites, a projektion systm w/ 10m skreen,
state of the art techniques and pioneer mixing equipment and remote
mics and pick ups for live performance. the man who makes it possible
is Ah Bean, Tian Tian Sound, Taipei.
He is widely recognized as The Man in electronic sound in Taiwan.
hope you enjoy the show...
Local
Authorities: Our strategy in dealing with
the authorities, is to find out who in the local community can
communicate with them well--get them to feel out the authorities
and find out what we need to do to keep things cool with them
and then we do it, whether it requires getting a legal permit,
"local Permit" or whatever. It has always worked in
the past. And as long as everyone at the party keeps things cool,
it will continue to work just fine...
dont
hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. direct all
inquiries to events@revevolution.com
for the time being..
.ok,
so thats it. this is gonna be a very special party and a very
special season. we hope you'll all come help us kick it off in
style, May 10th, @ Da Shan, chillin in the hillz...
