This weekend (12/14) the government tears down many affordable housing projects in New Orleans—some that wernt even damaged by the floods. They are being replaced by hotels & casinos while thousands of homeless people still sleep in trailers, tents & under the bridge—2 years later—and their homes arent even damaged—they are merely coveted for N.O's new waterfront rejuvenation—which does not include black folk—as you will hear in this report...

The saga continues.What the fuck is going on in New Orleans? Ratial Regeneration? Or is it all economic? Either way this is some seriously sad shit. Watch this short clip of homeless people with college degrees watching their homes being torn down. Sad as any footage you will see from Iraq these days...

A side story shows one organization offering subsidies and incentives to wealthy jewish familes if they relocate in New Orleans. The suggestion is that the Neo-Cons decided to take advantage of the Katrina disaster to try out a new little idea for a prototype urban envrionment where wealthy folk can live in a high security environment without the usual threats from minorities and other poor people they have to deal with now.
